Mr J.N. Kapur a Social Reformer turned Abdullapur Village (Yamuna Nagar City) into Education Hub by establishing a chain of DAV Institutions by collecting donations to spread the literacy among the masses. Prior to the establishment of the Dental College at Yamuna Nagar, most of the students of Haryana had to go to South India for studying dental courses. Particularly the parents of girl-students were worried a lot, because they had no other option, but to send their daughters far away from their homes. They therefore, approached Shri Jagan Nath Kapur with a request to set up a Dental College at Yamuna Nagar. He acceded to their request. He established D.A.V. Dental College, which is the first private Dental College of Northern India as well as first post-graduate Dental College of Haryana also. He was the sole guiding spirit behind the setting up of D.A.V. Centenary Dental College at Yamuna Nagar by seeking help from NRI philanthropists, which were introduced by his daughter Prof. Swarn Mahendru and son-in-law Shri D.D. Mahendru in USA.
